The Difference between 3D Printing Technology and Traditional Industrial Manufacturing
Shenzhen Qihang Electronics Co.,Ltd | Updated: Nov 29, 2018

(1) Increasing and reducing material manufacturing are the biggest differences between them. In the process of printing, 3D printing technology produces each slice plane accurately according to the generated computer model data, and then carries out layer-by-layer printing continuously, and finally forms a complete three-dimensional object. The traditional industrial manufacturing methods are mostly reduced material manufacturing, that is, on the basis of the whole block of material to remove the surplus parts and make the remaining parts into products.

(2)The two consumables are different – traditional printing uses toner, while 3D printing uses traditional inks and papers to convert to materials that can cure, such as resins, plastics, ceramics, metals, and more. Due to the variety of 3D printing materials, the printed model can show the design on the shape curve.

(3) 3D printing, as its name implies, prints out a three-dimensional solid object. Traditional printing produces only flat paper.
